FINAL EXAM

the Final exam will be the 4th unit test, the 5th unit test, and 5 questions about screeenplay structre. We will watch a movie the day before the final and finish it the day of the final. The 5 questions on screenplay structure will be over the movie. Here are all the exams and the 10 possible questions over story structure.

Who's Who on a film Set (part one) Monday May 14th, Tuesday May 15th. Part two Wednesday May 16th, and Thursday the 17th

today we did a lesson on the many crew positions of a film. The next day we did part two and then took a quiz over parts one and two.

K-AHS VIDEO ACTIVITY

We are currently working on our K-AHS intros. The best intro per class gets 10 points bonus on their unit test. We will be editing these as a group. So one edit per group, unlike last time when every person had to edit their own version. TAKS testing has thrown a wrench in our schedule so bear with it. You only have one class period to shoot your footage. You must also pitch your idea to me before  you start shooting. I have also included a props list and a shot list in case you need to print out another.

PITCHING YOUR IDEA

 

We are strarting this six weeks with a k-ahs intro activity, but before that we are doing a lesson on pitching. You will then pitch your idea as a group to me at my desk. below is the lesson. Pay attention to the rubric at the end.

MONDAY & TUESDAY APRIL 10,11 - No more quizes!

I admit to mismanaging my calendar and we will not have a quiz over media management as planned. We will watch our projects and review for our unit test on Thursday and Friday

 

We are starting our group activity for filming and editing glorified announcements. You will need to know how to log and transfer. View the lesson and the rubric sheet below for that. Everyone has to edit thier own version. If you are working with a partner at the computer, then you decide with your partner which teams footage you are going to edit.

TUESDAY, WED, THURS, FRI -MAR 6,7,8 - Lesson 7 (sub days)

on tuesday we are starting lesson 7. take a study guide and begin.

on wednesday its TAKS day. not much can happen on this day. you may begin on 7 if you want, but i will give you a full day to do 7 in class on friday. beacause the B day has taks, on thursday its more of lesson 7 if you need it for the A DAY kids to allow the B-day kids time to catch up.

if you have down time. get crazy with fcp. edit stuff together and practice. you wont break the computer. have fun!

We are starting our unit on editing. We are starting off by taking an "open movie" quiz over the documentary called "the cutting edge". It is a documentary on editing. If you missed this class you have to come in and watch the dvd on your own time and take the quiz.

Jan 30th-Feb 3rd - Lesson on White Balance, Camera Activity, Resolution Quiz

We did a lesson on White Balance, we did a camera activity to match it, and we did a lesson on SMPTE standards, and a lesson on Colorbars. we will take a quiz over resolution next week

Jan 23rd-27th - Baraka Screening, lessons on RESOLUTION, Video Cables, TIMECODE, FRAMERATE
